Maxwell’s HWC series of horizontal windlasses are designed to effortlessly retrieve and deploy chain only anchor rodes whilst also offering an independent rope capstan.

The HWC offers simple above deck mounting with no under parts below deck and maintenance is simple with chain wheels and drums able to be removed from winch without disturbing the windlass. A heavy duty, dual direction motor, designed for marine winches, enables single or dual direction chain wheel operation.

The casing is constructed from marine grade alloy that is pretreated powder coated then finished with a two component white polyurethane paint. Both the chain wheel and warping drum are of high quality chrome finish over marine grade bronze, with the option of traditional bronze being available.

Extremely versatile, the HWC series can used to handle dual anchors independently of each other via cone clutch operation. There are several chain wheel and warping drums combinations that can be optioned for each winch.   

The HWC comes in three sizes and is available in 12v, 24v or hydraulic drive.

HWC1500 offers 680kg maximum pull and is suitable for 6-10mm chain.

HWC2200 offers 1000kg maximum pull and is suitable for 9-11mm chain.

HWC3500 offers 1500kg maximum pull and is suitable for 10-13mm chain.
